Rasmussen Reports and Scott Rasmussen part ways

By on August 22, 2013

I know, I never post anymore, but this surprised me. Rasmussen Reports has had a change of management. “Scott Rasmussen left the company last month,” says the firm.

I don’t know what this means. Possibly not much. Possibly a lot.

It sounds to me like the investors weren’t happy, given the prominence given to Noson Lawen Partners in the press release, cited as “the Company’s majority investor.” In particular it sounds like the investors are making a political statement, perhaps, trying to steer the company away from political polling.

Then again, maybe this is just splitting the two. Maybe Scott Rasmussen will go off and do his own political polling, and Rasmussen Reports will focus on private industry. This is all speculation. Given the high volume of political polling by Rasmussen in 2010 and 2012, losing them for 2014 and 2016 would shift the polling landscape. PPP’s polls would dominate, and I don’t think that’s a good thing for those who want to use polling to make predictions and understand the political climate and weather.
